Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday may be a Christian holiday of prayer and fast. it's preceded by Mardi Gras and falls on the primary day of the season, the six weeks of repentance before Easter. Christian holy day is historically discovered by Western Christians. Most Latin ceremony Roman Catholics observe it, as do some Protestants like Anglicans, Lutherans, Methodists, some Reformed churches, Baptists, Nazarenes, and freelance Catholics.

As it is that the 1st day of the season, Christians begin Christian holy day by marking a season calendar, praying a season daily pious, and abstaining from a luxury that they're going to not partake of till season arrives.

Ash Wednesday derives its name from the putting of penance ashes on the foreheads of participants to either the words "Repent, and believe the Gospel" or the dictum "Remember that you just square measure mud, and to mud, you shall come back." The ashes square measure ready by burning palm leaves from the previous year's Christian holy day celebrations. Read More
